This is a hybrid role with 2 days/ week onsite in our Herndon office.

We’re seeking aSenior Treasury Analystto play a key role in managing complex financial operations and ensuring the smooth execution of critical reporting and funding processes. This position requires a strong blend of leadership, organization, and analytical expertise to oversee workflows, meet tight deadlines, and support strategic decision-making.

In this role, you’ll collaborate regularly with internal teams—such as Capital Markets, Corporate Accounting, and Compliance—as well as external partners including broker/dealers and correspondent banks. You’ll be responsible for delivering monthly and quarterly distribution reports tied to education loan trusts and warehouse facilities, while applying your knowledge of financial instruments and funding structures to support corporate liquidity and operations. This is a highly visible role with opportunities to coordinate team training and contribute to process improvements across Treasury Operations.

Responsibilities include:

Trust Administration

  • Manage processes relating to new trust issuance and facility advance borrowing request. Ensure timely execution of cash settlement, wire requests to conduit banks, and post-settlement reporting. Coordinate with Capital Markets on loan purchase and sale schedule that support funding activity. Communicate forecasted cash to impacted area. Monitor trust covenants and triggers for compliance with trust agreements and regulations. Work with trustee banks and counterparties to resolve any operational and/or settlement issues that may arise.
  • Manage workflow relating to ABS investor and waterfall distribution calculations, and confirmation of swap payments. Review monthly facility reporting and waterfall distribution calculations prepared by specialist and analyst. Ensure timely reconciliation of trust transactions and work with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and exceptions. Ensure all trust related fees tracked and paid for accurately by trustee banks. Make sure all trust invoices are paid timely.
  • Function as resource for team members to consult for answering routine questions from legal, accounting, loan servicing, corporate finance, trustee banks, etc. on operational aspects of the trusts. Work with team members on partnering with accounting to ensure bank activity is coded to the general ledger appropriately and address their questions around bank transactions. Provide guidance to legal and capital markets on operational constraints on new transactions.
  • Review new deal parameter input into the Trust Administration System with periodic updates and system rate resets and bond/swap amortizations in Principia. Ensure timely publishing of distribution reports to investors’ website and review of website for data integrity. Participates in testing activities around system upgrades and other IT initiatives.
  • Monitor daily receipt of bank files and accuracy of trust data received. Perform data upload to PeopleSoft and TAS. Participate in testing activities around system upgrades and other IT initiatives.
  • Facilitate auditor document requests and responds to audit questions with the assistance of Manager – Regulation AB, Servicing and Admin Agreement, Sarbanes Oxley 404, internal audits by external auditors and other miscellaneous required audits. Document and complete semi-annual control testing and certification.
  • Assist manager and collaborate with team members coordinating workflow and training schedule for Treasury Operations.

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Cross-train and provide backup for team members. Maintain and update procedures within thirty calendar days. Complete all related research requests for internal customers and internal/external auditors.
  • Cross-train on Treasury functions to provide coverage for releasing payments, reviewing, and signing off reports relating to Cash Desk, Cash Mgmt, and collateral, debt, and swap activities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree- Business field, preferably Finance. Additional equivalent experience above the required minimum may substitute.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in Financial Analysis, Treasury Operations, and Structured Finance Operations. Additional equivalent education above the required minimum may substitute.
  • Proficiency in MS Office is required along with basic math problem solving skills.
  • Requires knowledge of how companies issue different types of debt to raise capital.
  • Must be comfortable taking an operational lead role in dealing with underwriters, broker dealers, banks, investors and various individuals internally on a regular basis.
  • Must have excellent writing and verbal skills and have ability to bridge inter-departmental function communication gaps.
  • Microsoft Access with Oracle database experience is preferred to troubleshoot data and reporting issues.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with different types of structured financings.
  • Familiarity with 1991 ISDA standards desired.
  • Experience interpreting complex legal agreements.
  • Familiarity with investor/rating agency reporting requirements.
